Four seconds from leak to lockdown
A leak can turn from a trickle into a flood in minutes. Here is how Hydrolatch neutralizes it before the damage starts.
Leak detected
Water touches the gold probes under any wireless sensor on your floor.
0.0sWireless signal
The sensor pings the hub over local radio in about 200 milliseconds. No WiFi needed.
0.2sValve shuts
The actuator turns your lever 90° and closes the main water supply.
< 10sYou get the alert
A high-priority push hits your phone. Fix the leak, then reopen the water in one tap.
InstantThree devices. One calm house.

Valve actuator
A motorized clamp that turns your existing quarter-turn valve. Manual clutch ring lets you override by hand any time.
- Fits 1/2″ to 1-1/4″ ball valves
- 12V DC, 6.5 ft cable

Smart gateway hub
Links WiFi and the long-range radio mesh. Shutoff still fires locally if your internet or WiFi goes down.
- 2.4GHz WiFi + RF/Zigbee
- Alexa & Google Assistant

Wireless leak sensors
Flat discs you place on the floor where trouble starts. They sip power until water appears.
- Coin cell lasts 1.5 to 2 years
- Low-battery alert to your phone
Where leaks start, sensors wait
Most household water damage begins at a handful of appliances. Place a sensor at each one.
Installed in an afternoon. No plumber.
Traditional auto-shutoff valves mean cutting your main pipe. Hydrolatch clamps over the valve you already have.

Plug in & pair the hub
Power the hub, open the Smart Life app and join your 2.4GHz WiFi.
~ 5 MIN
Clamp onto your valve
Snap the actuator over the lever of your quarter-turn ball valve and tighten the band.
~ 10 MIN
Place the sensors
Lay each sensor flat where leaks start. Test with a damp paper towel in 10 seconds.
~ 5 MINTypical plumber install: $400 – $800Hydrolatch: no tools, no cutting
Check your valve in 10 seconds
Hydrolatch needs a quarter-turn lever valve. Find your main valve and compare.
Quarter-turn lever ball valve
A short handle that turns 90° between open and closed. This is the most common main valve in modern homes.
- ✓ Pipe sizes 1/2″ to 1-1/4″
- ✓ Copper, PEX or PVC
Round wheel gate valve
A round handwheel you spin many times to close. The actuator cannot drive this style.
- ✗ Multi-turn handwheel
- ✗ Replace with a ball valve first
Homeowner tip: if you still have an old round gate valve, a local handyman can swap it for a quarter-turn ball valve (typically $60 – $120). Then Hydrolatch installs right away.

Questions, answered
Does the valve actuator need an electrical outlet nearby?
Yes. It plugs into a standard 110-120V outlet through the included 12V adapter with a 6.5 ft cable. For a remote basement valve, use any standard extension cord.
What if the power or WiFi goes down?
Emergency shutoff still runs locally. Sensors talk to the hub and actuator over a local radio link, so a WiFi or internet outage will not stop a shutoff.
During a power outage, pull the manual clutch ring under the motor housing to disengage the gears and turn the valve by hand.
How long do the sensor batteries last?
Each sensor runs on a coin cell for about 1.5 to 2 years. Below 20% you get a push notification to swap it.
Are there monthly fees?
None. The Tuya / Smart Life app is free on iOS and Android with unlimited push alerts, automations and family sharing.
Does it work with Alexa and Google Home?
Yes. Ask “Alexa, turn off main water” or “Hey Google, is the water valve open?”
Can I test it without making a mess?
Yes, in 10 seconds. Touch a damp paper towel to the two metal probes on a sensor. It beeps, the actuator turns, and your phone alerts. Tap “Open valve” in the app to restore water.
One small clamp between you and a $10,000 disaster.
Try Hydrolatch for 30 days. If it is not right for your home, send it back.
